Czech Republic: Against Narcotics Trafficking
In the spring of 2014, Endicott College's UN Model team was representing the Czech Republic. My professor assigned us a topic that would be debated and asked us to create a poster revolving around that issue that embodied the stance of the Czech Republic. My topic was narcotic trafficking. The Czech Republic believes that instead of arresting and filling their prisons with narcotics users, they would rather educate the users about the effects of these drugs and place them in specialized facilities to help them stop using. Because of their lenient drug policy, many drug dealers are using the Czech Republic to move drugs into the surrounding countries. These countries want the Czech Republic's help with this issue but the government of the Czech Republic does not want to crack down because they feel that their neighboring countries need to be more lenient with their drug policies as well.
